I’m Tiina Rikka, a visual artist drawn to the space between introspection and structure — between soft defiance and quiet observation.

My paintings often emerge like visual poems: layered, abstracted figures that speak in shapes rather than slogans, touching themes of identity, presence, and the subtle tensions between people. Faces recur, dissolve, and intertwine. They turn away, lean toward one another, or gaze directly at the viewer — not to explain, but to ask.

I work with a muted yet expressive palette: earthy tones, pale neutrals, soft blues. I find beauty in stillness, not silence — in the human traces that remain when everything unnecessary is stripped away.

My figures rarely stand alone; they are fragments, echoes, or reflections of one another. Through them, I explore connection, emotional labor, and the layered dynamics of shared experience — often from a quietly feminist perspective.

I don’t aim to fit into any single tradition, but I do find resonance with cubism, minimalism, and modernist portraiture. Still, I let softness disrupt those grids.

My art is deeply intuitive. I paint to process, not to perform — translating inner movements into color, emotion into contour.

For me, creating is both meditation and necessity. I don’t chase perfection or polish. I trust the process, and I trust the unfinished. My works are not made for the market, but for the soul — and still, they seem to resonate with others, perhaps because they come from a place of honesty.

In a world that moves fast and speaks loud, I want to offer something slower, more questioning. I hope my work invites you not just to look, but to feel — and to pause in that quiet space just beneath recognition.
